Advising Network is now accepting nominations for the Ken Freedman Outstanding Advisor Awards

LEXINGTON, Kentucky (February 28, 2022) — The University of Kentucky Counseling Network is now accepting nominations for the 2022 Ken Freedman Outstanding Advisor Awards.

Each year, the Ken Freedman Outstanding Advisor Award is given by the UK Advising Network to a full-time professional adviser and an educational adviser for outstanding service.

Ken Freedman, the award’s namesake, was one of the founders of the UK Advising Network in 1986 and was a professional adviser in the UK until his death in 2001. The Ken Freedman Awards recognize current advisers who go to beyond to support students. UK.

“Advisors are an integral part of student success,” said Jennifer Stevens, chair of the UK Advising Network. “We do more than help students register for classes. Counselors get to know students and help them achieve their goals. We hear about their challenges and respond to their individual needs. Ken Freedman Appreciation Day allows us to celebrate and recognize the outstanding work of advisors.

All students, faculty and staff are encouraged to participate in the nomination process. Applicants are not limited to colleges. Any faculty or staff member who plays an advisory role is eligible. To make a nomination for the 2022 Outstanding Educational Professional or Advisor Award, click here.
