HOUSTON – The HEART (Housing, Entrepreneurship And Readiness Training) program was founded to create new opportunities for adults with intellectual/developmental (I/DD) disabilities to realize their potential.

The philosophy of HEART is that everyone deserves the opportunity to excel and to feel the sense of pride and accomplishment that is achieved through education and employment.

In partnership with CVS Health, they offer a 10-week retail training program with a mock CVS store where trainees receive hands-on training as well as on-site externship at a local CVS store. It’s the only fake CVS in Texas, and one of 44 in the country.

Watch Lauren Kelly chat with HEART Acting Executive Director Seth Malin about this wonderful initiative and the many other programs offered.
