ESCANABA – The Bay College scholarship golf outing began 30 years ago, the first charity golf outing in Delta County. It all started because many students cannot afford a college education. Scholarships provide a bridge of opportunity for the students who receive them, while advancing education within our community.

Since 1991, the Bay College Scholarship Golf Release has helped 337 students complete their career certificate, diploma, or transfer program. Dave Pechawer is a long-time participant in this event. “I played golf in this golf outing for 30 years. “ said golfer Dave Pechawer. “What I like about this event is that everything revolves around the students. 100% of proceeds support student success through scholarships.

Foundation Vice President Kim Carne said: “Bay College is fortunate to be part of a community dedicated to improving and enriching lives through higher education.
