College Athlete of the Week: Logan Forsythe

D’IBERVILLE, Mississippi (WLOX) – Iberville shortstop Logan Forsythe has played baseball most of his life, he is a senior manager of the Warriors and recently signed with the National Champion baseball team. State of Mississippi to pursue his baseball career.

But he knows it’s not just athletic ability that will take you to the next level, his education has always been just as important.

“School has always been a priority, keeping my grades,” Forsythe said. “That’s what my parents always told me to do. They always told me that if they were going to choose someone, they would also choose someone with good grades, so that has always been a big part.

As Logan heads to Starkville, he still makes the final decision on what to study, but has a few starting points.

“I kind of want to stay with the sport and then I thought of other things but I have to talk about it,” he said.

His trainer Cragin Gilbert says having a leader like Logan on the team gives the younger ones something to admire and achieve.

“For us, he is our spark plug. He’s a guy on the mound and he’s a player who can do it all. He can strike for power, ”Gilbert said. “He has a lot of great memories here at D’Iberville and we can’t wait for his last year to have a lot more.

Even when he’s not in the field or in the classroom … Logan tries to make a difference wherever he can, including with the ECO Warriors of D’Iberville, helping in nursing homes. nurses or by training young people with some of his D’Ibervilles. coaches.

As he begins his senior season, the goal is clear.

“First we make it to the playoffs with this team, hopefully and we’ll have a good year,” Forsythe said.
