DePriest Wins Academic Honors from All CoSIDA Districts

MURFREESBORO, Tennessee – Middle Tennessee Soccer’s Peyton DePriest has been named to the 2021 CoSIDA All Academic District women’s football team, announced by the Directors of University Sports Information of America.

DePriest is one of 12 players who were named District 3 First Team winners, acknowledging the senior has one of the best NCAA Division I players from Tennessee, North Carolina and the Virginia.

This honor marks the second academic honor of all districts and the sixth total nod from the academic team for DePriest. She has been a four-time recipient of the C-USA All-Academic Team, and was named to CoSIDA’s 2021 All-District Academic Team after the spring season last June.

DePriest received his undergraduate degree last fall, producing a GPA of 3.94 and an Exercise Science degree. She is currently studying for her Master of Science in Leisure, Sport and Tourism Management with a specialization in the Sports Industry and has maintained a perfect cumulative grade point average of 4.0 in her graduate studies.

Her All-District Team nod adds to the Franklin, Tennessee native’s illustrious career as she is two-time C-USA offensive player of the year, once player of the year. C-USA, C-USA Freshman of the Year, 2019 United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-American, C-USA First Team All-American Three-Time Selection, C-USA All-Star Second Team Selection and Selection of the 2021 C-USA Tournament All-Star Team.

DePriest produced a record breaking campaign in 2021 that saw the senior score 12 conference-leading goals in 19 games, in addition to handing out four assists for 28 league-leading points. DePriest broke the C-USA all-time record for goals scored with 50 against Houston Baptist and produced an incredible 58 career goals, which led to all of the active NCAA DI student-athletes in goals scored in the DI level. She also broke C-USA’s all-time career points record, recording 127 points over her prolific five-year career.

Academic All-District® winners have access to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® vote. The winners of the first, second and third Academic All-America® teams will be announced on December 10.
