One month after the start of the academic session, the school is not yet open

Barwani (Madhya Pradesh): Two teachers were suspected of being drunk when Block Education Officer (BEO) Rajshree Pawar visited Valan Village Primary School in Pati Development Block on Thursday for inspection. Apparently, the village resident had lodged a complaint with the BEO regarding the fact that the school did not open even a month after the start of the new school term.

When BEO arrived at the school, teachers Dinesh Yadav and Jatan Singh Solanki who were present in the premises reeked of alcohol. The classrooms were also filled with water. Not a single child was present. Also, when teachers were asked for the necessary documents like grade sheets, registers, cashbook, passbook, vouchers, etc., they said the documents were at their house. BEO found that the available registers were also not completely filled out.

He immediately sent them both for a medical examination. Jatan did not arrive at the hospital.

Later, Pawar sent a team to the teacher’s two residences to confiscate the documents. Teacher Sunil Rathod has been given responsibility for Valan Elementary School. At the same time, instructions were given to have the school building repaired. Pawar had made arrangements in two classrooms for the start of sessions. A report was sent to the district office for action against both.
