PU will start a new academic session from the beginning of October

The University of Patna (PU) is expected to start the new academic session for undergraduate courses in the first week of October, officials shared on Monday.

PU Vice Chancellor Girish Kumar Chaudhary said an induction program will be organized before the start of offline classes to familiarize newly admitted students with the rules and regulations of the university.

The university has admitted more than 3,300 students into various conventional and professional undergraduate courses for the new academic session while the postgraduate consultancy is filling around 1,000 vacant seats.

Anil Kumar, Dean of Student Welfare, said: “About 80% of the seats are already filled in two rounds of council while the third council will end on September 28. We hope to complete the admissions process by September. -same.”

PU also launched the process of recruiting guest faculties as several professors retired during the 2020-2021 session.

“Due to the recent retirement of professors, several departments are facing difficulties in conducting courses due to the lack of teachers. As an alternative arrangement, the university decided to recruit up to 206 visiting professors in various subjects to ensure the smooth running of the courses. We are inviting online applications for the Visiting Professor position until October 15, ”Kumar added.

Meanwhile, the University of Patna is set to celebrate its 105th Foundation Day on October 1. Education Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary will be the main guest on this occasion. A total of 41 students graduating in 2020 will receive a gold medal for their academic excellence.
