Seventeen Male Student-Athletes Named to Hockey East All-Star Team


PROVIDENCE, RI – The Providence College men’s hockey team has registered 17 members of the Hockey East Academic All-Star team, as announced by the league on Friday, June 25. A record-breaking total of 187 male student-athletes achieved All-Academic Team recognition after achieving at least a 3.0 GPA in each of the academic periods of the 2020-21 season.

Senior Gabe Mollot-Hill (Ottawa, Ont.) Was named Distinguished Fellow after achieving at least a 3.0 GPA in each semester of four college seasons. Graduate transfer Matt Tugnutt (Peterborough, Ont.) Was one of 18 to be named Hockey East’s top varsity athlete after posting a perfect 4.0 GPA during the 2020-21 season.

Other student-athletes named to the Hockey East All-Star Team were: Michael callahan (Franklin, Massachusetts), Garrett devine (Windsor, Colorado), Parker Ford (Wakefield, RI), Matt Koopman (Marblehead, Massachusetts), Anton Martinsson (Klippan, Sweden), John mcdermott (Darien, Connecticut), Cam McDonald (Eagle River, Alaska), Albin Nilsson (Ljungby, Sweden), Jason o’neill (Odenton, Maryland), Luc Perunovich (Edina, Minn.), Nick fish (Vancouver, BC), Greg Printz (Fairfax, Virginia), Uula Ruikka (Oulu, Finland) Jimmy scannell (Medfield, Massachusetts) and Jaxson stauber (Plymouth, Michigan).
