Stratford Senior Cody Rinne named GOAT Fellow of the Week

STRATFORD, TX (KFDA) – The Stratford Elks are back in the 2A-DII high school football semifinal for the first time since 2019. The Elks are led by quarterback and safety Cody Rinne.

“Our offensive line is incredible. They are opening holes that no other offensive line in the state will make and I have so many guns around me, ”Rinne said. “The receivers are amazing and the running backs I mean I’m not doing anything. I am only a reseller.

“The way he plays the game speaks for itself, but the bottom line is that he’s a child of high character,” said Matt Lovorn, Stratford football head coach. “He has great leadership skills and it all comes from the way he was brought up at home.

The hard-working senior has a GPA of 3.8 and is an athlete in three sports, playing soccer, basketball and track and field. Rinne’s dedication comes from her breeding roots. He plans to pursue a career as an ironworker.

“It teaches you not to give up you know. It’s just another level that you know for digging deep, especially when it’s hot or when it’s cold, ”Rinne said. “Things like that, working on a ranch or even riding a horseshoe, you can’t push them away, go inside or anything like that.” You have to go out there and do it.

This real grain lives up to expectations and Stratford’s football legacy.

“We are all brotherly and just as coaches and players accept you,” Rinne said. “Even though I moved in eighth grade, they just took me in and made me a family.”
