The Daughters of the American Revolution of West Virginia awarded the 2022-23 Blanche L. Reymann State Scholarship to Kaitlyn Adkins of Weirton. The $1,000 scholarship was awarded Aug. 25 at Bethany College where Adkins is studying psychology. At Bethany, she is a member of the Honors Program, a member of the 2019-20 Dean’s List, and a member of the President’s List for the fall 2021 and spring 2022 semesters. She plans to pursue a master’s degree in psychology after completing graduated. The scholarship is named after Blanche L. Reymann, a founding member of the Wheeling Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and state regent of the WVDAR from 1931 to 1933. After Reymann’s death, the scholarship was established by his daughters and adopted by WVDAR as the Blanche L. Reymann Scholarship, which has been awarded annually for the past 54 years to a West Virginia female student in the top third of her class academically. A recipient must be entering their senior year at one of West Virginia’s private colleges or universities. With Adkins, center, are Lisa McNeil, left, president of the Blanche L. Reymann Scholarship Fund, and Jane Larke, state regent of the West Virginia Daughters of the American Revolution.
