William Floyd School District Senior named National Merit Student

William Floyd High School senior Ariella Morano has been named a Recommended Student in the 2022 National Scholarship Program, an honor reserved for just 34,000 students across the country who have been recognized for their outstanding academic promise and performance in of the SAT / National Merit Preliminary Fellowship. Qualification test (PSAT / NMSQT) taken during their first year of high school. Recommended students were among the top 50,000 students who entered the 2022 competition by passing the 2020 PSAT / NMSQT.
Ariella is a high performing student involved in many extracurricular activities both inside and outside of school. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Foreign Language Honor Society, Science Honor Society, Tri-M Music Honor Society (she plays viola), Youth & Government program, Student Government (member of the House of Delegates), is a member of the Chamber Orchestra, is Secretary of the Symphony Orchestra, participates in the Stony Brook STEP (Science and Technology Entrance Program) and is a member of the varsity tennis team. Outside of school, she plays viola with the Brookhaven Youth Orchestra and volunteers at the Lighthouse Mission in Bellport.
Ariella attended William Floyd K-12 Schools starting with Tangier Smith Elementary School, then William Paca Middle School and now William Floyd High School.
